Florence Henderson, the iconic actor who played Carol Brady on The Brady Bunch, has died at 82.
Her career spanned decades, but she was best known for her role as the matriarch of the ideal ’70s blended family from 1969 to 1974.
Henderson first gained fame on stage in musicals before moving into guest roles on a number of classic TV game and variety shows. She was the “Today Girl” on NBC’s Today show and went on to be the first woman to guest host the program. Angela Weiss / AFP / Getty Images
A massive wildfire ripped through Israel’s third-largest city.
The fire forced an estimated 50,000 people to evacuate their homes in Haifa, Israel. Several nations including Greece, France, Italy, and Russia sent firefighting reinforcements to help battle the blaze as the fire spread quickly through the city’s northern neighborhoods.

Facebook trending promoted a false news story. Again.
The Trending box, which appears in the upper-right corner for English-language users on desktop, listed “Karbala, Iraq” as a trending topic for many people. The promoted article associated with that trend was a story from Mint Press News with the misleading headline “Media Blackout As Millions Of Muslims March Against ISIS In Iraq.”
If millions of Muslims had decided to march against ISIS in Iraq, it certainly would have been major news. But Arbaeen is an annual religious pilgrimage and has nothing specifically to do with ISIS.
